Kerry Broadband: Any good?

Speeds of 512/128 appear to be little better than dial up, is this correct?

UTV is 30E Per month with national calls free after 6 and during Bank Hols and weekends.ive got it and its a very very reliable service

512/128 is quite a bit superior to dial up. Is the line contended, and if so, what is the contention ratio?

Is the 1gb a combined upload/download allowance? Seems low. Actually, according to their website, it is 10gb, which is not bad.
€199 for set up-what exactly are you paying for?
€34.99 is pretty steep for just broadband.

Have you checked ClubMan's sticky to see if you have any other options? Kerry Broadband don't seem competitive at all (I guess they don't have to be if there is no competition ).

Have you checked this thread for other ISP offerings in your area?

Not listed on the 'Irish Government's Broadband site' in the above link is Permanet. This is also available in Kerry, and is what I'm using.
