Kensington Security Slot

Having see someone almost effortlessly yank a laptop away from a Kensington Security Slot cable I realise they are pretty much useless.

Are there any better options to secure a laptop to a fixed structure?

I wouldn't write them off based on that one experience..... In theory if the Laptop (or other device) has a slot that's engineered properly using a reasonable gauge metal then it should be very difficult or impossible to yank one free and walk off with it.
