Heading here for a few days, mid-week. Can anyone recommend a restaurant or two and a good pub to go to! In general would I need to book these places, even if it's a Monday or Tuesday?

Come on down. There should be no need to book the pub, even in Kenmare.

good pubs are the square pint and o'donnabhains

the lime tree is a good restaurant. bout 4 years since i was last in kenmare so this could have changed. DONT be tempted to go to the so-called nightclub in riversdale (unless you're 15 or under and don't mind sitting on bingo-hall chairs)

Would second the Lime Tree and also Packies is lovely.
 
go to the horse shoe restaurant with a small bar in front.
owned and run by dutch folks.
great food and cosy atmosphere
