Hi

Spending a week in Kenmare this summer with g/f.

I am looking for recommendations for things to see and do in the area or greater Kerry area.

Thanks

Take a drive to Glengarriff. Nice views as you pass over the mountains, and Glengarriff is to nice area to relax.

There are some lovely bars and restaurants in Kenmare.
Jam and The Purple Heather are fantastic for lunch and restaurants like Packie's and The Wild Garlic offer the best of local sea food. For less formal dining Prego, Davitts and O'Donnavains are all very good.
Bars like Crowleys, Florry Batt's, and McCarthys are lovely for a relaxing drink in the evening.
Take a drive over Moll's Gap and into Killarney to experience the beautiful views of the Lakes of Killarney.
There are two golf courses in Kenmare, both open for visitors and The Kenmare Bay Hotel has a leisure centre open to the public (pool, sauna, jacuzzi and gym).

Hope this helps.

would suggest a trip out to Parknasilla Hotel. Lovely walks in the hotel grounds and scenery beautiful.

Also going for a week in the summer. Will have the car,so intend on driving the Ring of Kerry, tip out to Valencia island.gonna drive the Beara peninsula, its supposed to be lovely too!
