I've just spotted an issue that has quite frankly stunned me.

I transferred from Danske to KBC and while their online system is not as good as Danske, I have been happy so far.

I check my account at the end of each month and track everything through an Excel spreadsheet. I usually print off a hardcopy to tick off the items and KBC also send me quarterly hard copies.

Spreadsheet was off by a sum this month (< €60) and I could not figure out why. I then noticed that the online figures at the end of each month no longer matched the spreadsheets. I started working my way back and eventually discovered that KBC had injected a debit for this amount on the 13th June.

Now leaving aside the issue with the debit itself, and there may be a valid reason wrt activity that month, how can they inject it into the online system for June instead of October?

This means that the online system no longer matches their own hard copy statements for June, July, August and Sept. I'd love to hear an internal audit opinion on this.

But as a customer who needs to trust their systems, I'm stunned.

Has anyone else come across this?
