Hi, I was let go from my previous job about a month ago and applied for job seekers straight away, was waiting two weeks for an interview to process my claim and was then told i could go to the community welfare officer in the meantime as I no money at all!!!! The community welfare office told me that despite the fact I hadn't a penny to my name I could not get any money without a p45 which i was having trouble getting. so having been borrowing a lot of money in the meantime to cover rent and bills and stuff, I got offered a job a couple of days ago and had my first day today but, now even if i get my p45 i wont have time to go to cwo, and not sure if i'll get backdated for the month i wasn't working!!! please help! should i tell them i got a job or just wait???? thanks!

You should contact the SW office where you sign on and tell them that you've started work. If you qualify for Jobseeker's Benefit or Allowance for the time you've been unemployed, it will be paid to you once the claim is sorted out.
