Just bought a buggy that appears to have been repaired

I have had my eye on a particular buggy for a while. I heard a particular well known baby shop were starting their sale yesterday so went and had a look.

I was delighted to see the particular brand I wanted was substantially reduced so I purchased it. Last night when I opened the box to take it out I found a sheet of paper in the box which suggests this buggy has undergone repairs.

It is a headed notepaper with the logo of company that specialise in spare parts for this brand. It lists chassis no of buggy then underneath

Action " New release pin fitted"

Comments - " Frame release forced or suffered impact"

I intend to return the item straight away as I'm not prepared to accept it. But can the shop argue with me that I'm not entitled to a replacement as the buggy is now suitable for use??

It was being sold as new but at a reduced price in the sale, not as second hand at a reduced price in sale.
The question arises, did somebody own this before you and for how long? Or was it a shop damage/repair/display item.
Is it worth it in it's present condition?

Wasnt there some issue a few months back about buggies being recalled to manufacturers? This could possibly be one of them and now the original problem has been retified?

Nothing that a trip back to the shop where you purchased same would sort it out and ask them to explain the piece of paper. Look for the assistant that looks the sweetest

I remember that recall of buggies but this is not the same brand. It's a Phil & Teds model. The description on the form I found says " frame release forced or suffered impact" which suggests to me that it was damaged at some stage.

The price reduction was widespread across all the models so it's not like this particular buggy was reduced because it was at some stage faulty.

I checked the returns policy on the stores website and they seem to be fairly quibble free so I'm hoping for a good outcome. Just trying to arm myself with some rights before I go !!!
