Jury summons to previous address

I have just been forwarded a jury summons from my previous address. I now live (for past 3 years) almost 4 hours from this location and it would place a huge burden on me to travel back to serve on this jury. I am on the register of electors in my new home and really should have been taken off my old register . If i explain this to the county registrar am i likely to be excused or what is the best approach?

I had a similar experience recently and had no trouble in being excused. I would suggest that you write/phone/email your county registrar and explain your situation and request to be excused.
