We have a solid wooden floor in our house-does anyone know if it can be sanded and re stained/polished?

Is it a Junkers hardwood floor or just any 'hardwood' floor? If the former, please note that one of the good things about Junkers is that it has a very very good laquer finish which you are unlikely to achieve if you re-varnish.
 
Thanks for that Luternau-thats the kind of answer I was looking for-not a 'why not???' one! It is infact a Junkers hardwood floor.

Will be telling Mr F to keep the sander at bay!

But do you think that the floor looks worn & in need of being spruced up somewhat. Solid floors can be sanded & oiled/laquered/varnished in order to revive.
