July VRT change

Am considering buying a 06 bmw 320d in the north and hoping to avail of the vrt reduction come july. Only problem is I have to buy now as I'm changing jobs so losing a company car. Garage in the north were going to tax it for me(slightly dishonest I know!!). Anyone with any similar ideas or advice re implications if caught etc.
 
loads of posts on here about the 1 July date and the implications, have a read then post back if still confused.
