Hi there I recently got a divorce & was awarded the house because my ex husband never showed up in court. There is a large mortgage which I’ve been negotiating with the bank for a number of years with no support from him. He had a judgement mortgage attached to the house a few years ago. What happens to this now he’s lost the beneficial right to the house. The deeds will be transferred into my name shortly.

Any judgements will have to be dealt with before the transfer into your name alone, you will also gave to engage with the Bank who may not approve of his name being removed, not as straightforward as you think, do speak with your solicitor.
