JSB to Carers Benefit

I'm going through the process of being made redundant. However I know that next spring if I was in employment I would need to take Carers Leave again (I have 88 weeks left of it) and claim CB. But I will be on JSB. Can anybody confirm how this works: I'm aware of "You have been in employment for at least 8 weeks in the previous 26 weeks before coming a carer"
- Can I go from JSB to Carers Benefit like this?
- When CB is over can I go back to JSB?
- Do I retain the JSB for the time I was on CB? i.e. if I'm on CB for 12 weeks do these weeks get added on to the end of JSB,
- If I need to take more CB after next spring and before the end of JSB can I do so? Lets say I come off CB in April and next Nov I need to take Carers Leave again can I still use up the remainder of CB?

Does this help

QUALIFYING CONDITIONS IN DETAIL- THE CARER

Employment condition
The Carer must have been employed in full-time employment for at least eight weeks, either consecutive or not, in the 26 week period immediately prior to the commencement of the Carer's Benefit claim.
Full-time employment in this context is defined as insurable employment for at least 16 hours per week or 32 hours per fortnight.
This condition does not need to be satisfied on a second or subsequent claim where a person was in receipt of Carer's Benefit within the previous 26 weeks.

As I understand it your JB would be frozen while on Carers Benefit and you would return to JB (the unused portion of JB) after say 12 weeks on Carer's. I'm open to correction on that

This does help in that it's telling me that I can return to CB within 6 months of finishing it without having to have worked for 8 weeks.

Hopefully somebody will confirm regarding returning to JSB and not losing the time for it that I'll have to take Carers Leave for.
