JSB - casual work

Hi,

I'm currently on JSB.

For the month of August i might get the odd day here and there working at a local summer camp. Pay is 9.40 an hour and for 5 hours a day. Not much but its work.

Thing is i don't find out until the last minute how many hours I'll get. It might be 1 day, it might be 2. Certainly i wont get more than 3 days a week max.

How do I go about informing social welfare when I don't know each week how much work I'll get? Is the amount I'd earning so low that it won't affect JSB?

Any advice much appreciated!

You'll be signing a weekly docket in arrears so you'll know what days to sign off; you'll lose the Sw daily rate for each day you work; it's not based on how much you're paid.
