Just heard an hour ago that Jon Lord passed away today.
For those who don't know, Jon was the original keyboard player with Deep Purple and was responsible for much of their very original, heavy sound.
He co-wrote a lot of their material. News bulletins are implying that his claim to fame is that he co-wrote "Smoke On the Water." There was much more to him than that.
He was also a member of Whitesnake and played keyboards on this 1982 classic.
Rest in peace, Jon Lord. Your music will live forever.
