Joint tenants/Tenant in common

My parents gifted a parcel of land to me and my sibling. I was looking at the at the land registry document that we signed 20 years and it says

" Hereby transfer all of the property described in the schedule hereto to son A and son B in fee simple as joint tenants/Tenant in common"

I thought you had to be one or the either or is this okay?

It sounds like you are looking at a copy of a transfer document that you signed at the time. One of those options will have been crossed off and then sent for registration as yes, you can only be one or the other. If you now obtain a copy of the registered folio you will see which.
