Joint Dublin Scheme vs Single Council application / Property Path

A friend has applied to Dublin City Council for affordable housing scheme 18 months ago with no luck so far. At that time the single application for all four councils was not available.

  • It is now - does anyone know if being on the Dublin City Council list for a long time has any benefit - i.e would you lose out by applying for the four council scheme. Or is it just a lottery and length of time has no effect? Would applying to the four council scheme have any effect on the existing applicaton to Dublin City Council.
  • A minor point - do you have pay to reapply to the four schemes if you have an application into one council already.
  • How does South Dublin Co Co's Property Path scheme relate to the four council application. I understand the shared ownership scheme can be used in a council application for an affordable house. Does this apply for Property Path scheme?
  • Is there a joint shared ownership application also?
Any information would be appreciated ... and yes we have asked the council but are awaiting a reply.

Thank you.

Some info below. Hope this helps.

Applying to other councils won't impact your chances with Dublin City COCO. One thing to bear in mind is that with Dublin City COCO it is a lottery and the longer you are on the list the more times you are entered in to the draws so your chances of getting something should increase , applicants on the panel for between 6 - 18 months are entered twice and applicants on the panel over 18 months are entered 3 times.
