I'm currently on Jobseekers allowance and I may get to work 4 hours next Saturday. I'm trying to calculate how much my J.A will be reduced by, can anyone verify if this is correct:
My Jobseekers Allowance Weekly Rate: €197.80
Saturday - 4 hours work - My Net income = €34.60
My Weekly means = (34.60 - 20disregarded) = €14.60 x 60% = €8.76
Do you think I will receive option A or option B as my weekly JA payment:
A) €197.80 less €8.76 = €189.04
B) €197.80 less €8.76 less €32.97 (1 days JA = €197.80/6) = €156.07
Also if I had the option of working these 4 hours on Sunday instead of Saturday what effect would it have on the above calculations?
Hope somebody can help with this, I tried phoning Social welfare and they just told me I will lose JA for Saturday as I wont be available for work but couldnt tell me how much I'd lose.
Thanks in advance
