Jobseekers Allowance Meeting & Rental Query

I am going for a meeting with the SW next week. I have a query.

On the form it asks do you pay rent? Now sometimes I have to and other times I don't. It all depends on how many I have living with me. I am the head tenant in a property and the people that I got in to live with me cover the rent on the house, so in effect I pay nothing. However, if 1 leaves I would have to pay this share. But this is not often the case.

My concern is that I cannot put an exact figure on it. It is obviously better to be honest and tell SW my situation, but I am wondering is this going to complicate matters for me?

So you are renting a house but sublet it to others?? So you dont pay anything in turn getting it for free??

I havent sublet it as I live here too. But yes for the most part I am living rent free.

lucky you!! i woud think you would put no down for rent so as i am guessing you get it filled asap if there is a tenant after leaving? Is the landlord happy with that sorry if you think i am being nosey i just have never heard of it

Yes I am in a fortunate position. Yes my LL is fully aware of the situation. He lives close by. He gets 1 voice if there is a prob and I look after the place like it was my own home. It works well for both of us.
