Jobseekers Allowance means test v spouses's savings

I'm claiming for Jobseekers Allowance and according to the welfare.ie website you have to tell them..

"If you have a joint account with your spouse or partner, legally the total amount in the account is owned by each of you. Therefore it can be assessed in full against each of you."

But what if the spouse has pre-marital savings in his own name? The Jobseeker's Allowance claim form only refers to joint bank accounts and investments. So does the other spouse's savings not have to be declared in that case, if it's not in a joint account - as specified on the form?
