Made redundant last year and at this stage my JB stamps are fully used.
Applied for JA but was asked to demonstrate how the redundancy lump sum was spend. Not a problem as I can easily highlight the cheque amounts on bank statements. However I have some undeclared farm income receipts on my bank statements.
Concerns
1. Will SW necessarily investigate these dept of agriculture receipts or will they just verify the redundancy spend
2. If so, how far back are they entitled to claim o/s tax accruals

Thanks for any assistance !

Are you saying that you have income which you haven't declared to SW for your jobseeker's allowance claim? All income should be declared and SW may ask for further information on production of your bank statement.

Yes, SW will investigate all income/capital you have as part of the means test. It will be looked on seriously if you try and 'cover up' income. Basically, you will probabsly end up with no Sw as they will decide that yours means cannot be determined if there is any doubt in their minds about anything. My advice is to declare all your interests/income. There may be an option to get Farm Assistance instead of Jobseeker's Allowance, depending on your circumstances.
with regard to the second question, this is really a tax issue to be sorted with Revenue. SW will only be interested in income from date that means test will be applicable from.
