maybe this should be letting off steam ?
was talking to my niece who is on a job bridge scheme
she is single ( €188 plus job bridge €50 = €238
she works around 39 -40 hours
€238 / 39 hours = €6.10 min wage is €8.65 i think ?
how does this stand legally
this 39 hour week is stated on jobbridge website so host employer is not at fault ,
my rough figures at €8.65 rate €238/€8.65 = 27.51 max hours

But she is not employed by the company. It's clear it's an internship, not an employment opportunity. And it's effective with over 60% progressing to paid employment.

I do think a minority of companies exploit it, and don't offer any meaningful training or upskilling. In any case I think most companies top up the €50 to some extent, either paying for travel, or giving bonuses.

I predict an expansion of this in the budget.
