Job advertisement on Permanent contract

I'm just wondering if anyone can shine some light on the issue.

My contract clearly states permanent on it but my job has just been advertised. My contract isn't up and I haven't received any notice of termination etc.

can my employer do this?

Or the team is expanding and they just copied your job spec as the one closest to the new role - HR departments can be lazy that way...

I would take screenshots at home \ print outs of that job ad with relevant time and dates just in case you need it down the line...

Could be a multitude of reasons.

When you state your 'contract isn't up, do you mean it has an end date?
