Jeep type vehicle caught fire

Recently heard a large explosion and in the morning an old type jeep had caught fire during the night and the bonnet was wrenched upwards. Foul play is not suspected and am wondering if it is possible for such an event to occur without human interference

Any vehicle connected to a charged battery can catch fire, I have an old vehicle which is garaged and disconnected until I want to take it for a run.
