Hi,

My JB is due to expire in April. While I started claiming April last year, I have been on the docket system/singing on casually since last October as I have been gaining sporadic work as a substitute teacher (approx. 5 weeks work total between October and today).

I understand that I will be means tested when my JB expires.

I am 27 and living at home-will my parents income get taken into account for the means test?

Thanks v much. Good to know.

On a side note, does the fact that I have worked casually through the initial 312 day JB entitlement extend the end of the entitlement?

i.e. JB started 1st April 2010 for 312 days, so is due to end 1st April 2011. I have worked 50 days casually through this period. Does my entitlement extend past the 1st April 2011 by the 50 days worked??

Thanks again.

It'll go by the number of weeks PRSI paid since 156 days benefit date passed and you will need 13 weeks to requalify. The only ones who can tell you exactly where you stand with regard to that is the SW people themselves. They will check it out themselves anyhow before your JB exhausts in April.
