JB - Is it automatically granted when you apply

If the PRSI dept tell you that you have enough stamps to claim JB, what happens when you send in your application?

Is it automatic that you will get it or will they still want to see your bank statements etc?

JB will be granted when you prove your identity (passport, driving licence), residence (ie a bill with your name/address), any letters about redundancy/why you are out-of-work, P45.

Savings etc... are not relevant for JB, only when claiming Jobseekers Assistance.
