JB ran out on 24th October

I made the application on 16th November, and had my interview on the 15th January

I'm delighted to have got paid last friday but I understood the payment would have been from the day my JB ran out? But it has been paid from 16th November.

If somebody can clarify it would be great.

On a separate note, I have found a job for 6 months covering a maternity leave so all is good in the job department. PRSI stamps can be built up again.

It would depend on why you left a three week gap before applying.
Were you not informed before your JB ran out that you would have to re-apply?

I had money left over from my period of work (8 weeks) in the summer and to be honest, I just didn't apply for it because I didn't think I'd qualify for it but decided I had nothing to lose

Then it seems they were correct not to backdate it.
Unless there is a strong reason why someone didn't apply in time, claims are only paid from the date of application.

Owen7 or anyone else that applied for JA after JB ran out. I have a query. I am awaiting feedback on JA decision, spouse works. What is the least amount that husband must earn so that I can get any JA, looked at socal welfare website but couldn't get a clear answer for this. Also, have you to do an interview for JA? I've just applied for JA, understand that there is a long wait. Any information, much appreciated.

Well part of the reason I didn't think I'd get it was that I have my own house rented out as I had to move home. I decided I had nothing to lose and all they took off me was 22 a week because of this capital. I was happy with that, thought it would be way more. But it does depend on invididuals, for me it was house value less mortgage amount. So you partner's cicrumstances will be taken into account but I'm afraid I am not in a position to help you there.

There was an interview yes, two months after I applied.
