J.benefit to J. Allowance changeover

Hi,
My jobseekers benefit is due to finish in a few months, if I have no job at that point what happens then, to get jobseeker's assistance? I know JSA is based on partner's earnings also, what is the limit for this? Do you get changed over automatically or does someone come out to means test? Also, how long do have to be on benefit until you can apply for CE scheme where you can work 19.5 hours a week?

you should get a form a couple of weeks before it's due to changeover where you must state partners earnings, savings, mortgage/rent etc.

what if you are renting with another tenant ? Do you have to give their income details even though they aren't related to you and you cant rely obviously on a tennat to help you pay your bills!I doubt a tennant sharing a rented house would be willing to give his salary details jus cos i need to seek JSA

You will not be means-tested on the income of persons you are house-sharing with, unless you are a couple or are seen as such.
