ISDN Downgrade

Hi,

Trying to get Eircom to downgrade our ISDN line to enable us to get broadband with probably BT, as BT have a free connection offer(limited time,unable to find out for how long)
Asked Eircom to downgrade on Monday 2nd Oct and they said it'll take 4weeks.

Has anyone had any experience of downgrading an ISDN line?Does it take this long?

Does an engineer have to come out?

We downgraded our ISDN line to normal analog line. An engineer has to come out and disconnect the ISDN line and fit a 'normal' phone line. Costs about Euro 120 for the pleasure !

4 weeks is the standard answer to 'how long will it take'. It took about 3 weeks.
