Hi,

Is it true that if you buy a property to rent out which is in need of renovating, you can claim all the VAT back if you get someone to pretend that they are renting the property from you as you are doing the renovations ?

Are you seriously asking if tax fraud is allright?
 
Apologies, let me re-phrase the question.

Is it true that if you have a paying tenant, you can reclaim the VAT paid on any renovations to the property.
