Is this a Monitored Alarm

Hi we are moving into a rental house next week and I want to transfer my internet account from my current house. They have asked if the house has a monitored alarm as the line would need to be split

The house has an alarm, which will ring my mobile to say the alarm is going of, does this mean it is a monitored alarm and that I will need to get the line split?

The owner is away on a weeks holiday so I can’t ask her.

Thanks for any advice

It is monitored by you.

I am assuming it has a programmable voice digi-dialler.
The only problem with DSL and a monitored alarm is that when the dialler is activated,(usually upon alarm, tho there are other conditions) then the broadband will be pulled down as the digi-dialler will "grab" the line.
Most people can live with this, but its not difficult to "split" the line.

Only problem you might have is if you mention it to your insurance company that you have a monitored system. Mine said that I have it split. Wouldn't actually say it would affect any claim but didn't say it wouldn't either if you know what I mean
