Is there compensation from An Post for late delivery?

Hi,
Sent two items on the 22nd of last month, both to the USA. One via standard post and one via Courier post - guaranteed 2-3 working day delivery.

Regular post item was delivered last week. Courier post item was in the international hub in London yesterday. Courier post was a €50 premium over standard post. I am fuming. Has anyone ever gotten compensation for this type of scenario? I know for example Parcelforce will recompense 25% of postal cost if delivery is not made within stated time. I can see nothing on the An Post T&C's.

think 22nd was past the cut off point for delivery pre Christmas for courier post. don't know for certain though. Usually An Post have a list of dates for latest posting. 22nd seems awfully late for posting as 24th was a Sunday and 23rd a Saturday with possibly no way of getting an item out of the country. should have been informed though.

The last day for Courier post to USA for Christmas delivery was December 12th. I have received a refund from on post for track & trace items to the uk so I think you should make a claim from An Post.
