Is the Horizon box still rubbish

Any chance Virgin are going to replace it with a decent box?

I know Brendan got a Horizon box with a seperate modem for BB how is that the only option?
Is this solution good enough I need to contact them about upgrading my BB and non HD DVR box.

The horror stories about the horizon box still worry me.
 
Your worries are well founded. It's a flippen disaster, I had good Internet access from a stand alone modem with Upc/virgin and decided to use their horizon box for TV/phone/internet 2 weeks ago, I have cancelled all and insisted I be reinstated as before without the Horizon box as wifi is so bad.
 
I use Horizon and actually find it pretty good. The tv is connected via WiFi and we often use Netflix, our iPhones and an iPad simultaneously with no WiFi issues.

My big issues are the app (which is terrible compared to Sky Go) and having UTV Ireland instead of ITV. Thankfully I can just use my parents' Sky Go.
