Is Spouse of Dead Beneficiary the New Beneficiary?

Hi folks,
I am single and my will leaves most of my assets to my siblings. If one of my siblings pre-deceases me (call him Bill), then I die (without changing my will), does Bill's wife get his share of my assets or does his share go to my other siblings?

You can decide that yourself.

So it depends on what your will says.

Not sure what happens if you say
"I leave €10,000 to Bill" and say nothing else. I presume that it goes into the pot and not to his spouse or children.

You should specify what you want "I leave €10,000 to Bill and if he predeceases me, I leave it to his wife Mary"
