Is my orchid dead?

I have an orchid which has lost all its flowers but there does seem to be some new leaves and the original leaves still look healthy. There have been no flowers on it for a very long time. Do they ever grow back or should i just give up on it? I have no green fingers whatsoever!

Orchids would grow back usually, once a year. What helps a lot (a least with my orchids) is to soak them overnight in cold potato water (that is water that you used to boil potatoes in).
Orchids won't bloom the whole year, but only for a few weeks to months every year.

Hi
It could be still alive so don't give up! After flowering, cut the stem back to 3 shoots from the bottom, this will encourage bloom growth for next season.
Keep it watered, there are tonics called Orchid Focus you can get in any garden centre, one for when it's in bloom and one for hardenong the plant when not in bloom, check out [broken link removed]

Good luck!

I bought 2 orchids for my Mum a few years ago and they need to be cut back and be sure to take off any parts that are dying. They also only need to be watered once a week, any more than that and they will struggle.

I went to repot it a few weeks ago and it was completely rotten so i probably overwatered it. I'll know for the next time.
