Is it possible to hire a sewing machine?

Well, my question is in the title really. I need a very small and very simple job done but don't have the sewing machine. Buying even a cheap one wouldn't be justifiable.

Does anyone know if there is a company that rents out sewing machines in Leinster?

Keep an eye on Jumbletown.ie and you might pick one up for free - when the job's done you can re-advertise it.

There's one advertised on jumbletown at the moment, but there's already a queue of people who want it (not mine, by the way!).

What about paying a dressmaker/similar to just do the job you want? I had a dress altered a while back for the princely sum of 15 euro.
