Hi Folks,

Can you tell me is it possible for a refund to be made of an overpayment made on my mortgage account.

It is currently sitting there as a credit on the mortgage account. When we made the overpayment we asked for it to be taken off the principle but the bank said they cant, so we left it.

Now we want it back but we have been told no. Do I have any hope of getting this back?

Thanks in advance for any input.

You can get this back, I did some years back, you are actually ahead of your repayments based on your initial mortgage contract, if they refuse ask them to deduct payments from that pot for as long as it takes to empty it and you will get your funds back by not paying your mortgage the way you do now, just ensure they do not mess that up.

Thanks Palerider,

I was wondering if it is possible to get a the whole amounbt back in one lump sum rather than paying my mortgage with it for the next 5/6 months?

Cheers,

PG
