Is it possible to do a part time science degree

Is anyone aware of any part-time/distance degrees in science offeredin Ireland

If you do a bit of a google you will find plenty, I have often found that going to individual college websites and checking directly gives best results. Off the top of my head IT Sligo do offer some science degrees distance learning.

I have to ask the question, if its distance learning, why does it have to be in Ireland? Surely it wouldnt matter where if it was distance - is that not the point of distance learning? Many of the UK universities offer good properly accredited distance learning programs in science or science subjects. Open University offers the best programmes of course, but they have had a huge price hike due to funding being pulled so might not be an affordable option anymore.

I found the OU to be very thorough, class materials arrived on time, and tutors were accessible. I know people who did distance learning from an Irish third level institute at the same time and had terrible trouble with class materials arriving late.
