Hi

Is it Ok to paint internal walls in winter. The walls have not had any coats at all yet but the plaster is well dried. The heating is not connected yet either.

Could anyone who built their own house or went direct labour say when they painted the inside of their house?

Was the heat already on or did they do the undercoats beforehand

h=i built my own house and painted it this time last year got advise from a decorator. what i did was to use watered down white emulsion everywhere ceiling and walls 2 -3 coats. basically white house inside and let it well dry. its a bit messy but the final colours took less paint having a good base. i had no heating either
hope this helps

no bother ment to say on the final ceiling coat do not mix with water and with final colour wall coat
happy painting good luck

own build and i painted whole house inside in summer months, no heat only natural, anyway I did same thing as empor2010 only the first time i rolled on water down emulsion on ceiling i got quite a shock as paint drips everywhere, so I then bought proper ceiling paint (waste of money as I couldnt see any difference between ord emulsion).

make sure you paint ceilings in bathrooms before tiling as I hadnt managed to get to back door toilet ceiling before tiler and nightmare to paint afterwards.

Good luck, its a tough job but u save a fortune.

Just another point, my brother had a professional painter do his house and advised a creamy colour for ceiling instead of white, really makes the white coving stand out.
