Is interest earned when credit card in credit?

Hi,
I have a question about keeping money on your credit cards. By this i mean, if i completely pay off my credit card bill, and put an additional €500 on to my credit card, will the credit card company pay me interest on it? Kind of like a savings account?

does anyone have info on this topic?
 
It certainly used to be the case on Visa but AFAIK not any longer. When going on hols and preloading the c.c. for cash withdrawals interest was earned then but this does not happen any longer.

No mention on Its Your Money about earning interst.
 
There are currently no Credit Card issuers in Ireland that offer credit interest.

Many US issuers offer this. All of the processing platforms have the option of calculating credit interest, but currently no product on the Irish market provides it - money laundering risks etc...
