I'm going to be setting up a retail business early next year. It will have plenty of cash sales, the odd invoice maybe and no other staff (for the time being). Would first books from Tas be a good bookeeping package for me? I want the cheapest package, but one that i and accountants can use easily.

Yes, its a perfectly adequate package. Most accountants will have clients with Tas books dataset's and will be very familiar with same.

I find The Big Red Book very good and simple to use. Not sure how much it costs as I am using it for the past 12 years.

Farm accounts software

Does anyone know a good simple accounts package for farm accounts, not registered for vat.

I use Tas Books 3 in work and love it, I have Tas basic (it's free if you download it from the uk site) but I find it very very basic & they want too much money to set up a second licence on Tas books 3 - would First Books be more like the full Tas Books
