Hi all,a question for a friend.....
hes living in his parents with his 2 kids...hes on lone parents...the eldest is 19,she was at collage last year but dropped out with health issues, she cant find work so shes seeking jobseekers allowance until something comes up..would she be intitled to this,or would they take everyone in the house income in??as in her granny and grand dads, although her grandad is unemployed and granny wouldnt have a high paying job...but im sure they will just go on her dad been a lone parent??cheers in advance...

If she applies for Jobseeker's she will be means-tested on her father's income only, not the grandparents.

As she is under 22, the maximum rate of payment will be €100.

I presume that your friend is no longer receiving a one-parent family payment in respect of the 19 year old, now that she is no longer in college.
