Is buying a new Passat cheaper in the UK

Looking to buy a new Passat 1.9TDI or a Passat 2.0TDI........ for private use. Based on the new Tax system for VRT, emissions etc, is it cheaper now to buy in the UK and import whilst paying the tax or just buy it here? Also, would the same reposne come if i decided to buy a year old (secodn hand car)?

make sure its at least 6 months old as you wont have to pay vat, (just vrt), yes it is highly likely that it will be cheaper.

try usedcarsni and save the flight, you should even get a better deal in northern ireland

I saved at least 3,00, euro on a Peugeot bought in North. Way cheaper to buy North or UK , but ensure car is well checked out .
