Is a student maintenance grant taxable?

I cannot find any information online about this. Is a student grant taxable and should I include this (very tiny) amount in my tax return form for Oct 2013?

The grant was received from the council for the year 2011-2012 and spread into 3 payments.

Nope, a grant isn't taxable, because it's not really seen as income - it's money given to cover the cost of something.
