Key Post Is a Section 72 policy good value?

It's literally not an option, but a trap for unwary consumers confused by reading personal finance stuff from the UK that is inapplicable and inappropriate here.

In fact I would both hope and hazard a guess that it's a difficult product to buy here because of the absurdly high misselling risk.

I also think AAM should ban it from being recommended or favourably mentioned here.

And it's not even a safe panacea against inheritance tax.
 
What happens to the payout from a Section 72 policy if there is no liability for CAT?

Let's say that CAT is not applicable because the beneficiary is living in the family home and meets the other criteria for exemption.

Do they get the proceeds of the Section 72 policy tax-free anyway?
