I am a director of a company that i do not draw a salary from i had a job with another company which i was made redundend from am i able to claim SW ?

JC

Yes but have been told by guy at the SW as i was/am a director i am classed as self employed ? and would not get JSA or anything else for that matter

If you are unemployed, available for and seeking full-time work, you can claim JA. It's a matter of passing the means test, which is an assessment of income, assets etc..

He told me this but when i told him my wife was in employment and we had a small amount of savings he laughed at me and told me no way

Your wife's earnings/capital must be enough to bring you over the means threshold so. That is the reason youa re not entitled to JA then.

Is there anything else i can apply for ? she is jsut over the limit
