Would these cars usually do well into their old age? I heard they have a lot of electrics that could go wrong.
Now looking at a honda accord as they have such a high reliability rating and the room and safety is good.
Was it the Rover shape? If so, in fairness to the guy these are often described as hatchbacks although strictly speaking they are not IMO.
There aren't a lot of them for sale, especially if you don't have time to travel to cork and kerry and aren't going the merlin route. I'd be worried about the cost of running the bigger engines too, I imagine a 2l petrol engine aint cheap. The main attraction of the 04 focus is the 5 star safety rating. I took a '01, 1.8 accord asking less than 3k for a test drive, but I think it had clutch problems.I reckon you would fairly easily get an 01 Civic for well under 5K.
