Irish mortgage on Australian property

Hi ,
I have a house in Sydney on which I am paying 9% interest on the mortgage.
I am now living and working in Ireland .
What are my chances of getting an Irish lender to take me on for a nice European interest rate!?
I have no property in Ireland to use as security .
Would an Irish lender require Irish security?

Unless the mortgage is so small or your income so large that you can get the required amount as an unsecured personal loan, yes.
