I work in the same business park as them, the park is run by the bolton trust an inititative of the dit, so could be some link up there, they also sponsor an annual competition for dit student. Thanks for the info. Having reviewed their site again, I still can't figure it out:
1) Was it all just a big wind up? If so, they managed to fool a lot of people. Anyone know anything of the background of these people. Presumably thay didn't just come out of the woodwork and were well known in the field before this? (Possible conencted to DIT according to the website). Anyone know anything about CEO Sean McCarthy? If its a hoax, it's amazing what a decent website and a good PR machine can achieve.
OR
2) Did these guys want to believe something so badly that they, innocently overlooked fundamental flaws in their proposition and were willing to ignore one of the most fundamental laws of physics, that you just can't create energy from nothing.
Considering the "problems" with the public test, and the fact that they selected their own jury in advance, I'm tending towards 1).
Don't know anything else about them, they did raise a large chunk of cash.
Yummy receptionist working there, thats my only interest in them.
