What are the VAT and VRT implications/responsibilities of an Irish limited company importing a vehicle bought in the UK?

A seconf hand vehicle will suit better budget wise to avoid the need for fixed term leasing.

Is there any advantages to the above?

Basically yes, is the purchase treated differently as a company rather than an individual. VRT rate changes/exemptions, any vat right-off etc.
Looking at importing for the same reasons private buyers do for spec levels and just wanted to make sure I was availing of any options to a limited company in this regard?

That's an interesting one. Considering many UK business do not charge VAT to Irish businesses on receipt of a valid VAT Reg No., I wonder if garages would do the same?

As for VRT, if it has been charged in the UK already (it would have been if you are looking at a second hand car) then it is illegal for the Irish Govt. to charge it again on importing here. Now, trying to get away with this will be a lengthy and very expensive court case. But the first person brave enough to do it will be a legend :D

Oh right, I didn't know that. Although as pointed out above, the VRT for commercial vehicles is only €50 so this would be fine in the OP's case.
