Hello again!
I was wondering if there was such a thing as an intensive course in Irish. Again it is part of the interview process, so I need to have fluent oral Irish only. I was fluent in school, but haven't spoken it in about 10 years. I need a major brush up, and quickly. I'd be willing to take a day or 2 off work. Where would I begin to look for such a thing?

Oh Tiger, thank you SO much, I found exactly what I was after there....
Luimneach
Bíonn ranganna Gaeilge an Chonartha i Luimneach ar siúl gach Luan ar 7.00 i.n. agus tá táille €60 ar dheich rang. Chomh maith leis sin, tá dhá leibhéal éagsúla ranganna ar siúl ag Aonad na Gaeilge - rang do thosaitheoirí a thosaíonn ar 6.15 i.n. agus meánrang a bhíonn ar siúl ar 8.00 i.n. Le haghaidh tuilleadh eolais glaoigh ar Aonad na Gaeilge ar 061 ......

Super Duper, I'm thrilled. Have a great weekend and good luck with the course

I've been thinking about the old Gaelige too lately. I was a fluent speaker for teh ArdTeist. In the last ten years I've just had no cause to use it. I'd like to find a conversational group, if such a thing exists or even some activites, ( eg. walking, debating, pub-nights etc) through the Irish language. I'd like to head to the Gaeltacht for weekends if there was activities for adults. I'm in the Cork area. Does anyone have any ideas? I checked the sites posted above and nothing.

Hi Kazbah,

UCC run reasonably priced evening courses in conversational Irish at their Ionad na Gaelige Labhartha. Very relaxed and informal. They also have weekends away in the Gaeltacht - Ballyferiter.

If you fancy a week away with good craic and great muinteoiri, Oideas Gael do week long courses in Glencolmcille in Donegal - all students are catered for from complete beginners to fluent speakers who need to brush up on the oul tuisil ginideach. It's like going to the Gaeltacht for adults - you can even have your meals served by a bean an tí if that's what you're into. They have a website http://www.oideas-gael.com/
